About The Artist
I am a hyper-creative person fortunate to be born into an ocean of hyper-creative people. My role models and mentors figured out how to make a living for themselves in the arts and made it very clear to me at a very young age that I could do whatever I set my mind on. The arts are more to me than a hobby a lifestyle or a job, but they are my home, they are who I am.
Whether you are one who creates, studies or simply admires art, being receptive to the exchange has the ability to give a person direction and purpose. Whatever your medium, a paint brush or a camera, a can of spray paint or a hunk of clay; pen and ink or a knife and a piece of wood; you have at your fingertips the ability to express yourself and touch the life of another human being. Art can give a voice to those who feel small or those who have something to say but can’t find the words or just the chance to move someone and make them feel.
Born and raised in the Black Hills of South Dakota, I work in multiple media but enjoy none more than the camera. My mother says I first picked up my SLR camera on a family trip to Yellowstone 20 years ago and haven’t put it down since.
Although I frequently do commercial shoots, I’m most comfortable outside, on back roads, getting lost and looking for the perfect light and the magic. I enjoy the thrill of the hunt and countless adventures that have unfolded because of the quest, but there is nothing more thrilling than opening that shutter and just knowing…I got it.
