Glenda Drennen is a native of South Dakota and a former public school music teacher. Her love with watercolor began when she married and left teaching over thirty years ago. She is a signature member in both the Iowa Watercolor Society and Watercolor U.S.A. Honor Society of Springfield, Missouri.
While she still honors and practices painting in traditional transparent watercolor, she also embraces the use of other water soluble media to broaden the creative possibilities for more contemporary work. Her painting has evolved into a strong personal statement that is abstracted, energetic and subjective. She uses the unpredictable nature of watercolor to her advantage, often including surprises that reflect her sense of humor.
Glenda currently lives in LeMars, Iowa where she creates paintings in her home-based Watermark Studio.
