Jenny Bye
Jenny Bye is a Sioux Falls based artist and has been painting in the encaustic technique for fourteen years. She uses beeswax, damar resin, dry pigments and collage elements that are fused into layers, variously added and scraped away.
Jenny Bye grew up in Lincoln Nebraska and Sioux Falls and has lived in and worked in Wyoming, Montana and Iowa. She studied art at Eastern Montana State University in Billing Montana and has a Bachelor’s of Science from South Dakota State University.
Before relocating to Sioux Falls seven years ago, Bye was the education coordinator at the Sioux City Art Center. She has had solo exhibitions at the Sioux City Art Center, the Sioux Falls Arts Council, JLG Architecture Firm, Augustana University, Yankton Area Arts Association and East Bank Art Gallery. Her work has also been published in the Briar Cliff Review (2016, 2017 and 2019)
