Whether painting on location, or creating reference sketches for larger studio works, Stephen Randall’s paintings are stories to be told. Based on personal experiences, Randall’s series Chasing the Sun serves as a visual biography of the place. From painting plein air, to mentoring other artists, or sharing his art in a gallery setting, Randall’s work serves as a conduit of conversation, “I enjoy hearing viewers reminisce as they view my work; that they had a similar experience at the same location, or are reminded of a similar story in their lives”.
