Each piece begins as an intuitive yet intentional observation of the natural world. The pencil marks offer clarity and intention, while layers of oil bring depth, atmosphere, and the movement of color. This balance between order and intuition mirrors how identity is shaped — both constructed and organic, deliberate and instinctive. Through this process the subtle moments the self and environment merge — the boundaries between human experience and the natural world become porous, with composition and color becoming a vessel for memory and transformation.

I hope that they find my artwork evokes a moment of reflection; A dialogue or a moment of engagement for the viewer, and the desire to take this experience home and put it on their walls. Life is too short not to enjoy experiences and tangible reminders of them, and I hope
that they feel inspired to look at a work of art longer and in person more.

My traditional education was obtained through mentors, museums, observed light, while learning composition and the color pallet and it’s complex language of value, notes, hues, relationships and between this is a development of style. Early on I was accepted into national calls for art, the first was the Woman Artists of the West for two years in a row with both not yielding a judges award, but I was awarded with sales. In 1999 I received a M Graham Award for color at the National Oil and Acrylic Society with both works selling, from there providing paintings to regional galleries, institutions and exhibitions. I have continued to create and hear back how much my work is loved – and what pleases me the most is hearing people see the landscape differently, our Blue Arcadia.
